President and CEO

The President serves as the chief administrative Officer of the Corporation.  The President shall have general supervision over the activities and operations of the Corporation and works with and for the Board of Directors to implement organizational policies, procedures, and programs as approved. 

Founded in 1964 by then-Governor Frank Morrison, Keep Nebraska Beautiful is a nonprofit focused on waste reduction, recycling, and community beautification.  In 1980, KNB became the state affiliate for Keep America Beautiful. As the state affiliate, Keep Nebraska Beautiful remains an independent nonprofit which coordinates Keep America Beautiful events in the State of Nebraska, such as the Great American Cleanup, America Recycles Day, Recycle Bowl, and National Planting Day. Over the years, 22 local affiliates throughout the state have joined Keep Nebraska Beautiful as Keep America Beautiful affiliates. These affiliates are educational and community-improvement programs that address local needs such as litter awareness, litter cleanups, beatification, reuse and recycling programs, and neighborhood revitalization.

Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Overall management and operation of the organization
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of all internal operations
  • Manage information technology including social media and website
  • Human Resources management
  • Event Planning

Development

  • Grant writing, grant financial management and reporting
  • Overall management of fundraising events
  • Overall management of donor development
  • Overall management of CRM database
  • Strengthen existing supporters and create new donors and partnerships
  • Promote entrepreneurial growth of the organization

Program Management

  • Responsible for program planning and development
  • Work closely with staff to strengthen and growing current programs
  • Measure performance and improve quality of programs
  • Review programs on an ongoing basis and develop new programs as needs emerge

Work with Keep America Beautiful Affiliates throughout the state

  • Responsible for regular communications to affiliates
  • Provide any need training for new directors and board of directors, and other training as needed
  • Provide any additional assistance as needed
  • Organize 3 Regional Affiliate Meetings and State Conference annually
Qualifications
  • Passion for organization’s mission and ability to articulate its vision and values to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficiency and ability to handle details
  • Initiative coupled with willingness to take direction from the Chair and Board
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Ability and willingness to delegate
  • Public speaking skills: poised, persuasive, articulate
  • Demonstrated interest in the environmental issues
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, marketing or related field
  • Demonstrated competency in financial and budgetary issues required
  • Experience administering grants desired
  • Management experience required and nonprofit management desired
  • Familiarity with nonprofit policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make public presentations and to provide training as needed
  • Proficiency in financial management required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and experience in accounting software and InDesign desired
  • Experience in CRM software desired
  • Skills should include demonstrated leadership ability, problem solving, data analysis, personnel management, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Organizational management ability
  • Experience in dealing with community/volunteer management
  • Familiarity with media, volunteer network, corporate structure and political process
  • High energy level
  • Computer experience, including word processing, database and spreadsheet
Additional Details

Staffing

  • Two full-time staff members (Program Coordinators)
  • One part-time staff member (Program Coordinator Assistant – newly funded and to be hired)
  • One part-time intern (Social Media / Communications Coordinator)

Annual Budget

  • $250,000 – $300,000

Salary and Benefits

  • $60,000 to $80,000 depending on qualifications and experience
  • Paid Time Off (13 days with ability to reach 30 days)
  • Healthcare Reimbursement (up to $400/month)
