Great American Cleanup

Keep Nebraska Beautiful invites your community to participate in Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup™ (GAC), the largest community improvement program of its kind in the nation! The GAC officially begins on March 21 and runs through June 22 this year.
Keep America Beautiful (KAB) is also partnering with the Earth Day Network (EDN) for the GAC and EDN’s Great Global Cleanup™. Earth Day is April 22 and is a good day to “act locally while thinking globally” and we encourage volunteers to participate on Earth Day or any other day during the GAC!
Communities may participate in any number of events and may include such activities as:
- Litter, park, and roadway cleanups
- Clothing collections
- Reduce, reuse and recycle activities
- Tree and flower plantings
- Beautification projects, and more.
Your Great American Cleanup™ events can include volunteers of all types, from students, and sports teams, to civic groups, businesses, and more! The first priority is to keep volunteers safe, so please follow all CDC guidelines when planning events and consider doing small scale socially-distanced projects or “small pod” collections that help to keep everyone safe.
All participants are required to fill out and return a Great American Cleanup™ Results Report once their events are complete. We want to hear all about your efforts to clean and beautify your community!
To register to participate, email mbrinkman@knb.org or call our office at 402-486-4562. Please leave a message if no one is in the office, and we will get back to you soon!
